Champion Selmalda Lucas of Epernay (Ch. Walkmyll Mayo x Selmalda Fame, Ch. Selmalda Fabian's full
litter sister) was born on March 6th 1995. Owned by Barry and Sheila Clarke, bred by Lesley and
Adam and exclusively handled by Adam, Lucas won his first C.C. and BEST OF BREED at fourteen
months of age from world wide breed specialist Ole Staunskjaer (Denmark) from a record entry of
234 Danes. His second was to come at CRUFTS from breed specialist Ann Foxwell where from an
entry of 101 males Lucas won through from the Special Yearling class beating nine Champions in the
process including our own Champion Selmalda Rainbow Warrior who won the R.C.C. from the veteran
class. Lucas' third and qualifying C.C. was awarded two months later from breed judge Sue Pollock-
Yule with three R.C.C.'s from Mike Bousfield (Breed), Diana Bousfield (Breed) and Roy Tripconey
(Breed). In November 1996 Lucas ended the year as the South Western Great Dane Club's Top
12 Premier League Winner (Points) and Overall Winner on the day, judges Raymond Boatwright
and Kari Wilberg (All Rounder). Equally Lucas proved his worth as a sire, his progeny including S.
Believe In Me and S. Chasing Rainbows.
